Fall 2010

Oh what a lovely time of year here in Central New York!!


Mike is truly enjoying his clinical rotations. He delivered his very first baby this week! What an exciting day at work for him!!

Spring in Syracuse ~ 2010

Spring is here in Syracuse, NY! We've got a great park near our home were we regularly go and shoot some hoops!

Last week we had some amazing temps! April 1st it got to 80 degrees and April 2nd made it to 90 degrees! What a beautiful Easter weekend we had! Today it made it to a lovely 75!

Here's a few pics from our first winter in Syracuse!

Boy can it snow here! The picture above is one evening ~ it snowed over night and this is what the same tree looked like the next day ~
While Syracuse gets about the same amount of snow as Fargo ~ the snow melts quite regularly. Unlike Fargo where once the snow falls ~ it's there until May-June! Another notable aspect in the difference in weather is the wind. There is very little wind here in Syracuse ~ no sub-zero wind chills like in ND. So needless to say we enjoyed a warmer winter!

Derik adopted a kitten. His name is Vito. Vito is now almost 1 year old.

Vito is a very sweet, happy cat! He bring us all a lot of joy!

Fall in New York!

Our first three months in New York have been wonderful!

Fall here is truly beautiful!

Things are going well for us and we are getting acclimated to our new surroundings!

Mike and I enjoyed watching the The Orangemen play football in the Carrier Dome on Halloween.

Our journey to our new home....

We crossed 7 States to get here... and it all pretty much looked the same...

farmland... some flat, some hilly.
But ALL beautiful.
We drove 1,375 miles in two days.
Chicago and Cleveland were the two biggest cities we drove through.
We had good roads and great weather.

We are all settled into our home now.

We stopped by the Liverpool Country Club yesterday. And interestingly enough, it's only $20.00 to golf there! So needless to say, Mike is pretty happy about that! The course looks to be in really nice shape too.

There is a really nice lake less than 2 miles from our home.
Lake Onondaga.

There is also a small marina.

There is a really nice track that runs along the lake that people use for roller blading, walking, running, that sort of thing.
There is also a really nice park area there.

We went for a walk in our neighborhood the other evening.


There are many trees throughout the entire area. On our walk we came across a few nice wild flowers as well.




















We have enjoyed setting into our new home and are meeting some of our new neighbors. Right next door, there is a family that moved here from Sweden two years ago. We've also met a few other families that live here in our court. They have all been very kind and helpful in our adjustment to living here.

While we miss our life, family and friends in Fargo,
our latest adventure has been good so far!

Getting Ready For The Big Move!

Hello everyone!!!

We are getting very excited for our upcoming move!

We've got the movers, cleaners and maps all lined up!
Our new home has an outdoor pool that I foresee we'll make great use of! :-)
It will take us 3 - 4 days to make the drive. We plan to stop along the way and
enjoy ourselves and what each area has to offer.

In the mean time, we have been enjoying the summer!

We went to visit a friend and they did some golfing. I walked along.

We went to two VERY GORGEOUS golf courses!
The wild life and scenery was amazing!
The weather was rather impressive as well!

So as you can see, we had a really great time!

We also had the wonderful opportunity to gather with family a couple times
since the wedding as well!

First, we had Adam's 1st Communion / Confirmation.
A wonderful day filled with the 3 F's ~ family, friends and FOOD!

We also celebrated the May Birthday's on this day...

And we celebrated Gina's High School Graduation!

We visited, played a lawn game and ate lots of really great food!























And Derik and Alex have been able to enjoy the great out doors!






Alex celebrated his 17th birthday May 2nd!!
Our summer, so far, has been fun!

Next on the list of things to do ~ Derik's 21st Birthday!!!
